Save SHSH Blobs
Unknown3:29 AM 0 comments

If you are a jailbreaker or unlocker I would like to give you some suggestions so that you would not face any trouble. First of all you have to wait until you make sure that iOS 6 jailbreak is available in the market because if you are jailbreaker you will not enjoy iOS 6 without jailbreak and you may not be able to downgrade from iOS 6 to the previous version. In order to avoid this situation I suggest all of you to save your shsh blobs for the existing firmware so that if you upgrade to iOS 6 and you want to downgrade iOS 6 back you could do it by using the saved blobs.
Use a suitable Cydia tweak like AppBackup to backup your installed apps which easily you can restore later if you downgrade, restore and rejailbreak your device.
Also whenever you want to upgrade to iOS 6 it is better to do it through iTunes and make a backup of your device and all installed apps. In this way when your device will complete the iOS 6 installation it will ask to restore from existing back up or restore as new device so you can get all your apps, photos, notes and images etc.

How To Save iOS 5.1.1 SHSH Blobs Using TinyUmbrella

Creat a new folder on your desktop named saved blobs.
Download the iOS 5.1.1 Firmware For your Device and save in the above folder
Download TinyUmbrella latest version from our jailbreak software download page
Run the TinyUmbrella your device will be automatically displayed there  , go to Advance tab in the middle of the window and uncheck “Request SHSH From Cydia”.
Select the save SHSH directory by clicking …
Select your device from left pane and click Save SHSH, now you can see a new file created for your device in the folder you selected in previous step

Save SHSH Blobs

Save SHSH Blobs in RedSn0w

The next step we need to do is open the RedSn0w 0.9.14b2 and run it, from the main screen go to Extras => SHSH Blobs => Click Stitch => Click IPSW , Now browse and select the firmware file which you downloaded previously. Now in the lower section click Local to stich a local blob file into the IPSW. Browse and select the blob file which you saved using the TinyUmbrella.
Save SHSH Blobs
After you have selected the local blob file the shsh blobs saving process will start and after few minutes you will receive a message “Blob Stiching Done”
Now this saved blob can be used to downgrade your iOS from iOS 6 to the iOS 5.1.1 very easily using the RedSn0w 0.9.14b2 or any latest version.
I recommend all of you to go through this process and save shsh blobs because anytime you may come to know the iOS 6 awesome features and you may need to upgrade to iOS 6 and you may forget to save the blobs at that moment.

Jailbreak iOS 6 Important Note

If you are a jailbreaker and your device is already jailbroken remember your previous jailbreak shall be removed once you upgrade to iOS 6. Therefore think again and decide carefully whether you should upgrade to iOS 6 or not. If you are having iphone5, iPhone 4s, iPad 2 and iPad 3 don’t upgrade to iOS because still there is no hope that we shall get iOS 6 jailbreak for these A5 & A6 devices.
This iOS 6 redsn0w jailbreak is tethered that means each time you need to reboot your iphone or ipad you will need to connect to your computer and boot tethered using redsn0w.
This iOS 6 jailbreak does not install Cydia in normal way and you should need to install it manually using the command line.

iOS 6 pwned clean
How-to jailbreak iOS 6:
Step 1: Download iOS 6, and then update to this latest version by following our instructionsposted here.
Step 2: Download the latest version of Redsn0w for the relevant operating system from the iPhone Dev Team (Windows/Mac).
Step 3: Extract the contents of the downloaded compressed file and save it to a familiar location on your PC or Mac.
Step 4: Run the executable Redsn0w file, making sure to run in administrator mode if using a Windows based machine. If you are on OS X Mountain Lion, start Redsn0w by Ctrl-Click on the icon and then selecting Open from the new menu.

Step 5: Select the Extras option from the main menu of the Redsn0w interface and point it to the desired IPSW file.
Step 6: Redsn0w has advanced dramatically with the last few major revisions and now has the power to whip through the jailbreak without much interaction. Follow the onscreen instructions (Redsn0w might ask you to enter DFU mode) to complete the jailbreak process.
How-to boot tethered on iOS 6:
As already mentioned above, this is a tethered jailbreak, therefore you will be required to boot into tethered-mode every time you reboot your device. This can be done by starting Redsn0w: click on the "Extras" button on screen and then simply click on "Just Boot" option and follow the on-screen instructions. Once done, you will be rebooted back into tethered-jailbreak mode.
How-to install Cydia on iOS 6:
The current release of Redsn0w doesn’t install Cydia by default. To install cydia, follow the steps below:
The following steps to install Cydia is done using Terminal on Mac. You can use the same commands on Windows using a SSH program like WinSCP.
  • Note down the IP address of your device.
  • Make sure your device is connected to your PC or Mac. Start Terminal on Mac and type:
ssh root@<IP address of your device goes here>
  • It will now prompt you to enter the root password. Type: alpine
  • Once done, type:
wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh
Once done, the device will reboot and the extremely familiar looking Cydia icon will be sitting on the home screen in all of its glory. Jailbreak complete.
ios6jailbreak
The cat and mouse game continues between Apple and the jailbreak teams, both of whom ensure that end users and jailbreak lovers use their iOS devices with the functionality and freedom that they deserve. With iOS 6 being relatively new, it will be interesting to see how many Cydia based developers have managed to get updates out for their tweaks and to actually see what packages work with Apple’s latest version of iOS without issue.
